Most modern AI models understand and write many languages well. A few habits help you get natural, accurate results.
Prompt in the language you want back
If you want a reply in Spanish, writing your prompt in Spanish usually gives more natural results. Alternatively, write in English and say "Reply in Mexican Spanish".
Be specific about the variety
Languages vary by region. Specify "Brazilian Portuguese", "Canadian French", "Egyptian Arabic" or "British English" for spelling, vocabulary and tone that fit your audience.
Specify formality
Many languages have formal and informal forms (like tu/vous or du/Sie). Tell the AI which to use.
Watch for less common languages
Quality is usually highest in widely used languages. For less common ones, keep sentences simple, check results with a native speaker, and avoid relying on AI for critical documents.
Mixing languages
You can ask for bilingual output, such as a menu with Japanese and English or a lesson with explanations in your native language.
Cultural fit
Ask the AI to adapt idioms, humor and references for the target culture, not just translate words.
