Creating original content is the hard part. Adapting it for different platforms is mostly repetitive work, and AI is excellent at repetitive work. One strong piece of content can become a week of posts.
Start with a substantial source
Repurposing works best from something with depth: a blog post, a video transcript, a podcast episode, a webinar or even a detailed voice memo. Thin sources produce thin posts.
Extract the core ideas first
Before writing any posts, ask the AI to list the five to eight key ideas, the best quotes and any stories or numbers in the source. This becomes your menu of ingredients.
Adapt to each platform
- LinkedIn: a short personal story with one lesson
- X/Twitter: a thread where every post stands alone
- Instagram or LinkedIn carousel: one idea per slide, with a strong first slide
- Short video: a 30–45 second script with a hook in the first three seconds
- Newsletter: a short section with a personal angle and a link to the full piece
- Pinterest: a keyword-rich title and description
Tell the AI the platform's norms and length limits, and give it your brand voice so every version sounds like you.
Don't post everything at once
Spread the pieces over one or two weeks and vary the angle. People rarely see all your posts, and repetition across formats reinforces your message.
Track what works
Note which format and angle performs best for each platform, and feed those lessons back into your repurposing prompt.
