Midjourney Parameters Cheat Sheet

Oct 7, 2026 1 min read

Midjourney prompts can end with parameters that change how images are generated. Here are the ones most people use. Exact options can change between versions, so check the official docs for the latest.

Shape and size

  • --ar 16:9: aspect ratio (try 1:1, 4:5, 2:3, 3:2, 9:16, 21:9).

Style and creativity

  • --style raw: less of Midjourney's default beautification and more literal results; great for photorealism.
  • --stylize (or --s): how strongly Midjourney's aesthetic is applied. Low values follow your prompt more closely.
  • --chaos: how varied the four initial images are. Higher values give more unexpected options.
  • --weird: pushes toward unusual, quirky results.

Consistency

  • --seed: reuse a seed to get similar compositions when testing prompt changes.
  • Style and character references let you keep a look or character consistent across images.

Exclusions

  • --no: remove elements, such as --no text, people.

Other models

  • --niji: anime and illustration-focused model.

Tips

Write the scene in clear prose first, then add parameters. Change one parameter at a time to learn what it does.
