A music video used to require a crew and a budget. AI tools now let independent artists create visuals that match their sound.
1. Start with a concept
Ask a chatbot to help write a treatment: the story or visual theme, mood, color palette and how visuals change across verses, chorus and bridge.
2. Build a shot list
Break the song into sections and plan 2–4 shots per section. Each AI video clip is short, so think in short scenes.
3. Create a consistent look
Generate key frames as images first, using the same style words and references. Then animate them with image-to-video tools for consistency.
4. Generate and select
Make several versions of each shot and pick the best. Expect to discard many clips.
5. Edit to the beat
In your video editor, cut on beats, use transitions on drum hits, and add performance footage of yourself if possible. Real footage mixed with AI visuals often feels more authentic.
6. Final touches
Add color grading, lyrics or titles, and export in vertical and horizontal versions for different platforms.
