AI can explain any topic at any level, at any hour. That makes it a powerful study tool, as long as it helps you think rather than thinking for you.
Use it as a tutor, not an answer key
Ask the AI to guide you with questions and hints instead of giving the final answer: “Don't solve this for me. Ask me one question at a time to help me figure it out.” You'll remember far more.
Explain concepts at different levels
If a textbook explanation doesn't click, ask for the idea “as if I'm 12”, then at your course level, then with a real-world example. Seeing the same concept from different angles builds understanding.
Test yourself with active recall
Paste your notes and ask the AI to quiz you, one question at a time, focusing on what you get wrong. Testing yourself is one of the most effective study techniques, and AI makes it effortless.
Turn notes into flashcards and summaries
Ask for question–answer flashcards you can import into Anki or Quizlet, or a one-page summary for the night before the exam. Check them against your materials, since AI can make mistakes.
Plan your revision
Give the AI your exam date, topics, weak areas and available hours, and ask for a realistic schedule with spaced repetition and practice tests.
Stay honest
Every school has its own rules about AI. Follow them, and never submit AI-written work as your own where it isn't allowed. Use AI for feedback on your writing, not to write it. The goal is to learn, and the exam won't have a chatbot.
